How KaratuAI protects learning, data and organisations.
Plain-language answers about security, privacy, AI safety and more. Organisations can also ask about information for their own review.
Security
School and organisation workspaces use role-based access checks. Protected routes check account identity and organisation membership before granting access to learner records or administrative tools.
Request limits and browser security headers help reduce automated abuse and common web risks. We review safeguards as the platform evolves; no online service can eliminate every risk.
Privacy
We use account information and learning activity to provide lessons, practice, progress reporting and account services. Downloads of uploaded lecture files require access through the learner account.
AI features send prompts and selected learning material to configured AI providers to generate responses. Contact us for provider-specific information about retention, model training and processing locations before sharing sensitive material.
AI safety
KaratuAI is designed to teach: the tutor explains concepts, invites learners to try, offers hints and gives feedback. Teaching guidance adapts to the learner context available in the account and lesson.
Safeguards address harmful requests, distress disclosures and inappropriate dependence on AI. They do not catch every problem. AI explanations can contain mistakes, so check important information and involve a teacher or trusted adult when needed.
Report a safety concernChildren and families
Parents can create and manage child accounts and learner profiles. Parent dashboards show learning activity, recent practice observations and the support used during learning.
Family tools also let parents manage account access and request their child’s data. Families should review the privacy notice and stay involved in how children use AI for learning.

We work to make KaratuAI easier to use with readable layouts, keyboard controls, visible focus, light and dark themes, and reduced-motion support.
Our design standard includes responsive layouts, enlarged-text checks and touch-friendly controls. If something prevents you from using KaratuAI, tell us the page, device and support you need so we can investigate.
Compliance
Read our Privacy Policy and Terms for information about data handling and service responsibilities. Schools and organisations can contact us about the requirements for their own data-protection, procurement or security review.

Think you have found a security problem or an AI safety concern? Use our Contact page to tell the team what happened, which page was involved and how we can reach you.
Please do not include passwords, access tokens or another learner’s private information. Describe the issue first so we can discuss an appropriate way to share any supporting details.
